Natalie Jayne for Miss World

How did you get into modelling?
Back when I was 13 I was scouted at the 2004 Girlfriend Model Search Competition. My mum submitted my entry without my knowledge. It was a total surprise when I was told that I was going to be signed with the best modeling agencies in Sydney. Even though I didn't win the competition, I was ridiculously excited and couldn't believe my luck.
What made you enter Miss World?
I was looking for a challenge, something that would provide me with new experiences and push me out of my comfort zone. Having researched the pageant I am aware that to be a Miss World representative I need to possess exceptional talent, intelligence, compassion and grace. These are four qualities that I feel I possess along with dedication and a down to earth nature. Miss World is comprised of a number of categories that are each judged independently. Categories include fitness, talent, top model, presence and personality, and star quality. There is also the beauty with a purpose category. Beauty with a purpose is a great initiative where contestants raise funds for a selected charity. I really enjoyed fundraising this year for Variety - The Children's Charity. Prior to Miss World I hadn't organised an event at this level and was unsure of what to expect. Happily, my hard work paid off and I was able to raise just under $4000 for Variety - the children's charity. If I’m crowned Miss Australia this month in Melbourne I will then go onto compete for the title of Miss World in Indonesia later in this year.

What has been your favourite shoot to work on?
My favourite shoot has probably been with Bras N Things. They have a great production team, and puppies were allowed on set! You can't beat pretty lingerie and baby animals.
What’s your favourite thing?
My dog. Anyone who has glimpsed my Instagram can tell I love him to pieces.

Favourite TV show?
Friends! So easy to watch and there are so many episodes that I can disappear for weeks on a box set marathon.
Favourite designer?
My favourite designer at the moment would have to be the team from We Are Handsome. If only wearing a bikini 24/7 was appropriate.
What would you be doing if you weren’t modelling?
Well, currently when I'm not out on castings or on a job I like to build up my photography portfolio. I have been obsessed with photography since I received my first camera when I was about 8 years old. I juggle my modeling and photography careers quite well and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for me!
If you could work for one client who would it be?
I would love to be photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth. She is one of my favourite photographers, and one of her main clients is Guess. So, Guess it is!
